Driving Blindfolded

 

Rodney Housley, a magician in Arizona is setting out to prove his abilities in bio-reading to overcome one of his greatest fears:  Loss of Sight.   He will attempt to drive the entire golf course at Canoa Ranch while being completely blindfolded.     He will be using bio-reading, a form of non-verbal communication through pulse-reading and subtle signals, which will be given through touch from the wrist of Canoa’s Golf Pro, Rich Elias, then read by Rodney Housley in order to keep them from crashing off course, “For my (Rich Elias) sake, I hope he can really do this” stated Rich, one of Canoa Golf Pro’s who will be riding along-side Magician, Rodney Housley March 3rd, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.   Think that this is impossible?  I knew you were going to say that, and I wasn’t even holding your wrist.

On March 3rd at 5:00 p.m. Rodney Housley will have his eyes completely blinded by a solid blindfold placed around his eyes as well as a solid black cloth bag covering his entire head.  The bag will be tied around the base of his neck to allow no sight out of any angle.  Mr. Housley will then place one hand on the pulse of his passenger and through bio-reading navigate his way through the 9 holes of the narrow and winding path of the course without crashing or injury.  “Only 7% of what we communicate is verbal.  The rest is tone, body language, breathing, intuition and pulse.” Rodney states. 

If the stunt is successful, Mr. Housley will then attempt to hit some balls on the range with no assistance of sight whatsoever.   Is he crazy or is this something we can all develop to use in our everyday lives?  Rodney has always had a fear of being blind and over the years has spent days at a time blindfolded to conquer this fear.  “It is amazing that after just a few days of being without sight you find that your other senses are heightened to wonderful levels.” Rodney staets.  This is the main reason Rodney has accepted this challenge because he hopes he will become stronger.  “Fear is conquered by action and when you challenge your fear you can defeat them.”  said Rodney at a recent speaking engagement on motivation.  Canoa Ranch Resort is located at 5800 S Camino Del Sol, Green Valley, AZ where he will also be performing his close-up magic show live at Canoa Ranch Resort  @ the Grill on the Green on March 26th, April 23rd, and May 21st, show times 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are $15 and available through www.rodneyhousley.com or by calling 520-777-8860.  Dinner special available for ticket holders.
